Badanegan Successfully Accomplishes its Mission - Armenia Trip 2010
 

It all started in the fall of 2009. The Central Executive of the ARFJOC (Armenian Revolutionary Federation Junior Organization of Canada) along with its chapter executives and chapter members began the arduous task of raising funds and almost eight months later, all their hard work came to fruition on July 29, 2010.

Politicians Visit 2010 ACC Summerfest
 

Invited by the Armenian National Committee of Toronto, several GTA politicians attended the Armenian Community Centre’s annual Summerfest and spent an evening mingling with community members and enjoying rich Armenian culture, music and food.

The Georgetown Armenian Boy’s Farm a Designated Historic Site
 

For the past two years, the Armenian National Committee of Toronto (ANCT) has been working to have the Georgetown Armenian Boys Farmhouse, presently known as the Cedarvale Community Centre, designated as a protected historic and cultural site. Between 1923 and 1927, 109 Armenian boys and 29 Armenian girls who were orphaned during the Ottoman Empire’s systematic genocide against the Armenians, were brought to Canada by the Armenian Relief Association and raised in what is currently known as the Cedarvale Community Centre.

Toronto Armenian Youth Hosts United We Rock! The Concert For Human Rights
 

The Armenian Youth of Toronto (AYT) hosted the nation’s first-ever United We Rock! The Concert for Human Rights on Saturday, May 8th, 2010, in an effort to raise public awareness about the dangers of international human rights violations.  This public outdoor event was held at Toronto’s Yonge and Dundas Square from 12:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., and featured a number of local established and up-and-coming artists from a variety of genres.  The performance line up included Amos the Transparent, Aramik, Karina Es, One Fell Swoop, Fame City Boiz, Graydon James and the Young Novelists, Birds of Wales, and Humble the Poet. Though the weather was not favourable, devoted fans, supporters, and human right activists still came out in support.

Armenian Prelacy and Armenian Relief Society donate $10,000 to Red Cross for Haiti Relief Foundation
 

The Armenian Prelacy of Canada and the Armenian Relief Society’s Canada Regional Executive presented to Silvana Bertocchi, Red Cross representative, a check for $10,000 to help with the Haiti Relief effort.
