Seniors 30th Anniversary

The Armenian Seniors Club celebrated its 30 anniversary with a formal dinner on Saturday, October 3rd at the Armenian Community Centre.

The club that started out with 45 members in 1978 has now flourished to an active membership of 142 that are one of the most active organizations that operate out of the Armenian Community Centre. The members have weekly meetings, classes for English lessons, nutrition, and fitmess, monthly outings and trips and have raised over $400,000 for charitble organizations.

The evening started off with a video presentation highlighting the events and people of the last 30 years and was followed by a nice dinner. There were guests including executive members from other organization and special guest, Secretary of State, Jason Kenney who came out to congratulate the club on its 30th anniversary as well as talk about the role of seniors in Canadian and Armenian societies.

There was an awards ceremony were seven members received awards for the contributions to their club and the community. The evening featured music and dancing following the dinner.
