May 28 Celebration

The Armenian Community of Toronto celebrated the  91st anniversary of the First Republic’s independance over the weekend of May 29 to 31. Hovig Saraphanian was the emcee for the free public event held at the Hamazkayin Theatre in the Armenian Youth Centre on Friday night which featured songs, poetry, and special guest speaker Mgerdich Mgerdichian.

A full Scout parade will take place on Sunday, May 31 where the Homenetmen Scouts and Fanfare band will bring the newly blessed Armenian flag to the poles outside the Armenian Community Centre and hold the annual Flag Raising Ceremony.
