"Speak Up" most read op-ed in Excalibur since May

Unger Raffi Sarkissian’s recent article in the Excalibur, became the most read opinion/editorial published in the independent student newspaper since May, after only 2 weeks of being released.  The article outlines the problems of state censorship and opposition to freedom of speech in Turkey, which is ironically a secular Muslim democratic state since 1983.  Read Unger Raffi’s article here.

Unger Sarkissian is a fourth history and geography major at York University, and is a regular contributor to the Excalibur.  He was the president of the ARF YOC Toronto Chapter Executive during the 2004-2005 term, and has been both President and Vice-President of the Armenian Students Association at York University during his academic career.
