Homenetmen Toronto celebrates its annual Homenetmen Day Homenetmen Toronto had it’s annual Homenetmen Day Celebration and Church Requiem Service (Hokéhankeest) on Sunday January 22nd, 2006. The day started off with the Requiem in memory of all past Homenetmenagans who are no longer with us including recently departed World body executive (Getronagan) yeghpayr Garo Tutunjian from Beirut, Lebanon. The church service ended with an honour guard of scouts and a memorial wreath being placed in front of the memorial statue in front of the Church/ Armenian Community Centre. Over 250 people then entered the main hall in the centre to be received by a scout parade marching in to music being played by the Homenetmen Toronto Scout Band. Yeghpayr Khajag Avakian and the Rover Crew had prepared a special video highlighting all the events and members of our organization over the last year. Yeghpayr Vahan Tchalikian our Regional representative announced the five recipients of this years Service Awards. Kevork Agopian, Vahig Gharakhanian, Joe Kazarian, Houri Artinian, and Viken Khanamirian. Thank you to all who participated and made this years event successful.
