Canadian Olympian Visits Armenian Community Centre

Canadian Olympian Angella Taylor Issajenko visited the community centre on Sunday, April the 15th at the invitation of the Homenetmen Toronto Educational Committee.

She addressed the audience about her career in athletics and provided advice on how to go about in acheiving one’s goals. She is currently helping train future athletes including two members of the Homenetmen Track team, Carin Yeghyazarian and Nairy Manougian.  Angella has been an Olympian 3 times and won the Silver Medal at the 1984 Los Angelas games. She has also won Gold Medals in several Commonwealth and Pan American games. In 1987, Angella received the Order of Canada for her contributions to Canada.

Our Track and Field coach, Mardo Pakhdikian thanked Angella for coming out and Homentmen Toronto Chair Jano Sarkhanian presented Angella with an honourary Homenetmen Gold Medal.
