Town of Markham Raises Tricolour

The Town of Markham officially recognized the Armenian Genocide last year and now for the first time, the Armenian Tricolour Flag was raised in front of the Markham Civic Centre on May 28th.

Members of the Armenian community were joined by the Students from the ARS Armenian Private School, the Homenetmen Scouts, and the Homenetmen Scout Fanfare Band to take part in the Flag Raising Ceremony. Councillors, Jack Heath, Tony Wong and others were on hand to congratulate the Armenian community. A reception was held in the council chambers following the Flag Ceremony.
